We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team at Attenborough Surgery. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our doctors and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a warm and welcoming experience for patients, answering phone calls, and responding to queries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations.
- Process repeat prescription requests, making sure to follow our practice's procedures and protocols.
- Make appointments for patients with the appropriate healthcare professional, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
- Process requests for home visits, taking into account the patient's needs and our practice's policies.
- Take and deliver messages, ensuring that patients receive timely and accurate information.
- Process non-NHS claim forms and private referral letters, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to our practice's procedures.
- Collect fees for non-NHS work, ensuring that patients are aware of the costs involved.
- Update patient computer records as required, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.
- Inform patients of test and investigation results, providing clear and concise information.
- Filing of manuscript information, and maintenance of patients' medical records.
- Testing the clarity of the telephone message in accordance with our practice's procedures.
- Securing the practice premises and setting the alarm at close of day in accordance with our practice's procedures.
- Receiving specimens from patients, and batch delivery to collection point.
Attenborough Surgery is a four-site practice with five GP partners and 13 salaried GPs. We aim to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to all members of our community, respecting the individual needs and dignity of our patients.
Requirements- GCSEs in Maths and English.
- Customer Service experience.
- Call centre experience.
- General computer skills.
We offer part-time and full-time positions. We expect a commitment to a full 2-week training plan, which will cover all aspects of the role and ensure that you are equipped to provide excellent patient care and administrative support.
