Medical Receptionist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team at Attenborough Surgery. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
- Manage patient records, including updating demographic information, medical history, and treatment plans.
- Answer and direct phone calls, respond to emails, and manage correspondence.
- Process patient payments, handle billing and insurance inquiries, and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, procedures, and tests, and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, including phone calls, emails, and in-person visits.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably as a receptionist or administrative assistant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
