Job Summary

We are seeking an Adult Nurse to join our team as a Midwife, providing seamless care and interventions in partnership with women and other care providers during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Adult Nurse to transition into a Midwife role, working closely with Sheffield Hallam University to support your application to change career. You will be part of a dynamic team, providing high-quality care to women and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based care and interventions in partnership with women and other care providers.
  • Care for and monitor women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period, offering necessary advice and support on baby and self-care.
  • Communicate effectively with women and birthing people and their families throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal stages.
  • Diagnose pregnancy, assess, and monitor women holistically throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal stages.
  • Work towards achieving the NMC Standards of proficiency for midwives (2019) as outlined in the Midwifery Ongoing Record of Achievement.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications and experience:

  • GCSEs Mathematics and English Grade 9-4 (A*-C) OR equivalent Functional Skills Mathematics and English Level 2.
  • Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Nurse (Adult) first-level status.
  • First Degree at or above.
  • Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching, and assessing of students.
