We are looking for a skilled Historical Records Clerk to join our team at Suffolk County Council. This permanent role offers an annual salary of £24,404 (pro rata) and the opportunity to work with significant historical documents.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, be able to maintain accurate records, and have a keen interest in history or archival work.

Suffolk Archives is a dynamic team committed to preserving and sharing important historical records. As a Historical Records Clerk, you will work closely with our Operations Team to provide public access to collections housed at The Hold in Ipswich.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers with enquiries, providing detailed information about our archives and services.
  • Support the retrieval and production of archive materials from strong rooms for customer use.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the development of archive inventories.
