We have a temporary Reception Clerk role available within Suffolk Police Headquarters. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills and is able to work under mínimal supervision and effectively under pressure.
Role: Receptionist (Reception Clerk)
Location: Suffolk Constabulary Police Headquarters, Portal Ave, Martlesham Heath, Martlesham, Ipswich IP5 3QS (100% office based)
Rate: £10.89ph
Contract length: 3 months initially with the view to extend to 6 months
Shift Patterns: 22.5 hours per week: Mon, Wed and Fri 08:00-16:00
The occasional swap from Fri to Thu will be required dependent on annual leave
**Responsibilities**:
- Being the first point of contact for visitors, enquiries and correspondence to HQ
- Registering visitors by issuing visitor passes and informing departments of their arrival
- Recording enquiries and forwarding to relevant department
- Assisting with internal and external mail duties
- Issuing and reconciling return of keys and access cards
- Administering car park permits
- Undertaking vehicle security checks
- Maintaining an accurate computer database and internal system
Essential requirements:
- Strong Verbal and Written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and approach-ability
- Experience working independently and within a team environment
- Ability to self motivate and work under mínimal supervision
- IT literacy especially with MS Office (Word and Excel)
- Previous experience within a Clerical/Administrative environment
Desirable requirements:
