The MLK Education Search team is excited to support an 'Outstanding' Independent Special School in west London, seeking a confident and passionate Assistant Headteacher to lead on Curriculum and Wellbeing across their Primary and Secondary sites.

This inclusive co-educational provision caters for children with Autism aged 5-16 years, split across two sites. The school's unique student-centred approach focuses on professional development and wellbeing of staff. With a Senior Leadership Team that embodies the core values of the school, this rare opportunity awaits a senior teacher or middle leader with experience in SEN education.

As Curriculum and Wellbeing Lead, you will restructure and embed an exciting new curriculum and wellbeing offering in collaboration with an exceptional CEO and Headteacher. You must have a recognised teaching qualification, successful teaching and/or leadership experience within a similar setting, and excellent knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and relevant accreditations related to SEN/Autism.

You should also possess demonstrable experience and/or qualifications related to Mental Health/Wellbeing in schools. Additional qualifications related to SEN and/or school leadership are highly desirable. A strong understanding of Ofsted expectations and the Independent Schools Standards would also be highly desirable.

The successful applicant will earn a salary between £44,000 to £50,000.

In this role, you will work closely with the SLT to design and implement a pupil-centred programme aimed at increasing communication and independence. Each pupil receives an individually devised programme based on a multi-professional approach to learning.
