About the Role

The Diocese of Southwark is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the position of Office Facilities and Safety Officer. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Create and enforce safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage Physical Work Environment: Oversee the daily operations of the office facilities, including space planning, equipment management, and contractor coordination.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide Training and Support: Educate employees on safe work practices and provide guidance on maintaining a healthy work environment.
  • Implement Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement plans to reduce the organization's environmental impact.
  • Manage Budgets and Expenses: Oversee facility-related expenses and optimize budget allocation.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in Office and Facilities Administration: Proven track record of managing office facilities and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Strong IT Competency: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to understand and manage budgets, as well as make informed financial decisions.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
