Overview:

Pareto Facilities Management is seeking a seasoned Estimating Manager to oversee and prepare FM tender submissions as part of our strategic growth initiative. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading and rapidly expanding Facilities Management firm in the UK.

As the Estimating Manager, you will bring a solid background in a comparable position, along with a comprehensive understanding of the Facilities Management and Maintenance sectors. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you will play a crucial role in crafting compelling tenders, bids, and presentations aimed at securing new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to accurately assess labor requirements and competitively price tenders that encompass various self-delivered and subcontracted service lines. You will be responsible for tracking anticipated gross margin contributions, facilitating the transition of successful tenders to the operations team, and contributing to technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive management of the estimating process from start to finish
  • Thorough understanding of tender requirements and submission criteria
  • Identifying potential opportunities for bid submissions
  • Development of detailed cost models for review by the Sales Director
  • Management of supply chain relationships to obtain quotes for new business tenders
  • Collaboration with key team members to gather necessary information for bid completion
  • Partnering with the sales team to devise clear strategies for each bid
  • Researching current and future market trends relevant to Facilities Management pricing
  • Establishing input requirements and setting realistic deadlines aligned with bid timelines
  • Ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout the estimating process
  • Driving continuous improvement through internal and customer feedback

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent)
  • In-depth knowledge of the Facilities Management industry
  • Experience in submitting completed pricing models to clients, adhering to timelines and budgets
  • Proven success in FM tendering
  • Effective communication skills, particularly with engineering and account management teams
  • Able to work under pressure and adjust priorities as needed
  • Flexible approach to work tasks to meet tender deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Strong commercial acumen
