Overview:

Pareto Facilities Management is seeking a seasoned Estimating Manager to oversee and provide quotations for FM tenders, aligning with our strategic growth objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading and rapidly expanding Facilities Management firms in the UK.

As the Estimating Manager, you will need to demonstrate a solid history in a comparable position and possess a comprehensive understanding of the Facilities Management and Maintenance sectors. You will report directly to the Sales Director, assisting in the preparation of compelling tenders, bids, and presentations to secure new business.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in accurately labor-loading and pricing competitive tenders that encompass various self-delivered and subcontracted service lines. You will also track projected gross margin contributions, facilitate the transition of successful tenders to the operations team, and contribute to technical solutions.

This role presents a unique chance for an Estimating Manager eager to embrace greater responsibilities and play a vital role within our management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive management of the estimating process from start to finish
  • Early identification of the complete tender and submission requirements
  • Spotting opportunities for bid submissions
  • Development of a detailed cost model for review by the Sales Director
  • Management of the supply chain to acquire quotes for new business tenders
  • Collaboration with key team members to gather necessary information for bid completion
  • Working alongside the sales team to formulate a clear strategy for each bid
  • Researching current and future market trends relevant to Facilities Management pricing
  • Establishing input requirements and agreeing on realistic deadlines in accordance with bid timelines
  • Ensuring all relevant parties are engaged and informed throughout the process
  • Driving continuous improvement through internal and customer feedback

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of the Facilities Industry
  • Experience in submitting completed pricing models to clients, on time and within budget
  • Proven success in FM tendering
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, particularly in engineering and account management
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and adjust priorities as needed
  • Flexible approach to work tasks and workload to meet tender deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, especially Excel
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Strong commercial awareness
