About the Role

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective operation of the aquatic environment. Key duties include designing programs for patrons, utilizing various technologies to enhance the customer experience, and maintaining exceptional standards of customer service.

Probationary Period

All new appointments are subject to the successful completion of a six-month probationary period.

Employment Eligibility

This role is based in the UK. Employment is contingent upon verification of the right to work in the UK, either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme, or through a relevant work visa.

Job Purpose:

To deliver an effective lifeguard service in line with professional standards and organizational policies, while supporting a range of sport and leisure activities to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer First Aid as needed, and report incidents as per established procedures.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with health and safety regulations and operational guidelines.
  • Conduct general cleaning duties to maintain facility standards.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the facility by ensuring a customer-focused service.
  • Supervise children's activities, ensuring compliance with child protection policies.
  • Promote equal opportunities and adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by supervisors.

Progression Criteria:

  • Supervise swimming pool activities, identifying hazards and taking appropriate actions.
  • Maintain National Pool Lifeguard qualification through required training sessions.

The duties listed are not exhaustive and may include other responsibilities aligned with the role.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold and maintain the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.

Essential Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Good physical fitness level.
  • Knowledge of child protection and welfare issues.
  • Experience in customer service and lifeguarding.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Awareness of health and safety protocols.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Relevant aquatic qualifications.
  • Experience in public leisure facilities.
