About the Role

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective operation of the aquatic environment. Key responsibilities include creating engaging programs for patrons, utilizing various technologies to enhance the member experience, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Employment Conditions

All new appointments at Leeds City Council are subject to the successful completion of a six-month probationary period. This role is based in the UK, and employment is contingent upon verification of the right to work in the UK.

Job Purpose:

To deliver a proficient and effective lifeguard service in line with professional standards and organizational policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide First Aid as necessary, adhering to your qualifications, and report incidents as per established procedures.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with current health and safety regulations and operational protocols.
  • Conduct general cleaning tasks according to the center's cleaning schedules, ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Safely set up, dismantle, and store equipment as per the operational program.
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the facility, ensuring a customer-centric service.
  • Supervise children's activities and events, ensuring adherence to child protection policies.
  • Promote and support Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety initiatives.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the supervisor, within the scope of your role.

Progression Criteria:

  • Oversee swimming pool activities, identifying potential hazards and taking appropriate action.
  • Maintain National Pool Lifeguard qualification through regular training sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Hold and maintain the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification as a condition of employment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Good level of general fitness.
  • Knowledge of child protection and welfare issues.
  • Experience in customer service and lifeguarding duties.

Desirable Requirements:
