The University of Kent seeks a highly organized Compliance and Governance Specialist to provide professional support and administrative expertise to the Assistant Director (Governance) and the Head of Secretariat.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Directorate of Governance and Assurance, where you will be part of a team that delivers the day-to-day secretariat services required to support the University's corporate and academic governance committees.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing effective and efficient secretarial support to a range of University committees in accordance with agreed internal and external standards and schedules.
  • Assisting in planning the annual programme of work for each committee, drafting the overarching committee schedule and associated agenda planners.
  • Supporting the recruitment or election, induction and ongoing support of committee members.
  • Reviewing and drafting the University's governing documents to ensure they are fit for purpose.

As a Compliance and Governance Specialist, you will have proven experience of providing effective administrative support in a large and complex organisation. You will also possess excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £33,000 per annum, plus a range of benefits including 43 days annual leave, access to our on-site theatre/cinema, sports facilities, library, on-site nursery, and great staff discounts.
