Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Governance Operations Coordinator to support the governance and compliance operations at The King's School, Canterbury.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records for the Foundation and individual governors, including training and compliance documentation.
  • Organise all governor meetings, handle scheduling, distribute meeting papers, book rooms, and manage refreshments as necessary.
  • Attend meetings, draft agendas, take accurate minutes, and compile draft records for review by governors.
  • Ensure that all governance documents are up-to-date, liaise with external organisations, and handle statutory compliance documents.
  • Regularly update the governors' section on the school's intranet and website.
  • Assist in arranging governor training, and other relevant meetings as directed by the Clerk to the Governors.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be an organised, proactive individual with a strong administrative background. Essential skills and attributes include:

  • Strong IT Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office, Zoom, MS Teams, and other virtual collaboration tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Able to manage complex schedules and documents with meticulous care.
  • Confident Communication: Clear and professional in both written and verbal interactions, comfortable liaising with senior staff and external parties.
  • Prior Experience: Experience in minute-taking and large meeting organisation preferred.
  • Education: Educated to at least A-Level standard (or equivalent).
  • Commitment: Sympathetic to the aims and values of King's School, Canterbury.
What We Offer:

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic functioning of the school, working closely with the Clerk to the Governors and the governors themselves. The position is virtual with some flexibility regarding hours; some evening and weekend work may be required.

The estimated salary for this role is £13,200 per annum (£31,800 full time equivalent) plus 16.5% holiday pay.
