About the Role

Cavendish Maine is seeking a skilled and motivated Regional Sales Development Manager to cover Scotland and Northern England, focusing on building relationships with customers across independent retailers, builders merchants, wholesalers, and garden centres.

The ideal candidate will have experience selling into these sectors, possess strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint, and be able to effectively communicate at all levels. The successful applicant will be able to work independently, manage their time efficiently, and prioritize tasks to meet targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • To achieve turnover and profit targets by identifying customer requirements and developing sales strategies.
  • To utilize company systems and data to inform decision-making and plan call activities.
  • To maintain accurate records of meetings and progress towards goals, working closely with the National Sales Manager to drive business growth.
  • To build strong professional relationships with team members, foster a high level of understanding of the independent sector, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • To take a proactive approach to overcoming challenges, think creatively, and deliver results.
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with:

  • A background in DIY/Building Products/Decorative products or similar.
  • Experience selling into independent retailers, builders merchants, or wholesale customers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to diary plan and spend nights away when necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
