Medical Secretary and Administrator

Job Summary
The post-holder will be working with the rest of the team at Beechwood Medical Centre, a forward-thinking, training practice that provides opportunities for professional growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing secretarial support to the clinical team, answering telephone calls, and liaising with patients and other clinicians. The hours are flexible, and the role can be full-time or part-time depending on the individual candidate's needs.
Main Duties
The following are the core responsibilities of the Secretary and Administrator:
- To provide secretarial support to the clinical team, including answering telephone calls and liaising with patients and other clinicians.
- To use the telephone to call patients and take inbound calls from patients, as required.
- To book, change, and cancel appointments for patients in line with current arrangements.
- To deal with tasks, scanning of letters, and other duties as requested by the Practice Operations Manager, Business Manager, or Partners.
- To look after minutes and agendas from clinical and non-clinical meetings.
- To prepare reports for third-party organisations.
- To take part in team meetings and look at ways to improve the service.
- To help with the management of QoF (quality and outcomes framework).
