Medical Administrator and Support Assistant

Job Overview
The successful candidate will join our team at Beechwood Medical Centre as a Medical Secretary and Administrator. As a forward-thinking training practice, we provide opportunities for growth and development. The role will involve providing secretarial support, answering the telephone, liaising with patients and clinicians, and carrying out other duties as required to maintain the smooth running of the General Practice.
Main Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Secretary and Administrator:
- Provide secretarial support to the clinical team
- Use the telephone to call patients and take inbound calls from patients
- Book, change, and cancel appointments for patients
- Deal with post, tasks, scanning of letters, and other duties as requested by the Practice Operations Manager, Business Manager, or Partners
- Look after minutes and agendas from clinical and non-clinical meetings
- Prepare reports for third-party organisations
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to improving the service
- Contribute to the management of QoF (quality and outcomes framework)
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong IT skills
- Clear and polite telephone manner
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook
