About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our primary school in the Walsall area.

The Job Description

This is a part-time role that involves leading and managing the school's SEND provision, ensuring that all pupils receive appropriate, high-quality support.

As SENCO, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring individualised education plans (EHCPs) for students with SEND. You will also provide staff training and guidance on SEND best practices to support whole-school inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the school's SEND team to deliver a comprehensive and effective provision for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to create personalized learning plans for students with SEND.
  • Provide training and coaching to staff on SEND best practices and strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A qualified teacher status (QTS) and ideally hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (or a commitment to complete it).
  • Proven experience working with primary-aged children with SEND.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, parents, and carers.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a member of our team, you can expect:
