We are recruiting for a skilled Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the In-Patient Unit at Teesside Hospite Hospice Care Foundation.

About the Role:

This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care, focusing on palliative nursing support under the guidance of a registered nurse. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will contribute significantly to the overall well-being of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to patients, carrying out tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, as required.
  • Monitor patients' conditions, reporting any changes or concerns to the registered nurse or other healthcare professionals.
  • Support patients and their families in understanding treatment options and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including medication administration and care planning.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in palliative care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with patients, families, and staff.
  • Able to work effectively in a dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Compassionate and empathetic towards patients and their families, with a strong commitment to delivering excellent care.
