We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and compassionate In-Patient Unit Healthcare Support worker to join our team at Teesside Hospice Care Foundation.

About the Role:

In this role, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, focusing on palliative support under the guidance of a registered nurse. As an In-Patient Unit Healthcare Support worker, you will make a significant contribution to the overall well-being of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct care to patients, performing tasks such as feeding, bathing, and repositioning, as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, working closely with the registered nurse and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support patients and their families in understanding their condition, treatment options, and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including medication administration and care planning.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in palliative care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and staff.
  • Able to work effectively in a dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Compassionate and empathetic towards patients and their families, with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding care.
