About the Role

The Bereavement Counsellor will work as part of the Teesside Hospice Trading Limited's bereavement services and counselling team. The post holder will be responsible for managing a caseload of bereaved individuals and providing high-quality counselling services.

Responsibilities
  • To provide individual and group counselling services to bereaved individuals.
  • To work collaboratively with other members of the service, volunteers, and the wider Hospice to enable best support for patients and their families.
  • To maintain appropriate records to meet professional and Hospice guidelines and standards set by statutory bodies such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • To engage in regular supervision in accordance with professional requirements.
Requirements
  • A recognised qualification in counselling or a related field.
  • Experience of working in a bereavement or palliative care setting.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the BACP.
