Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician - Medication Management Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide daily medicines management services, including administering medications and providing advice on drug-related queries.
  • Assist nursing staff with medication queries and check all prescriptions.
  • Perform medicines reconciliation for new patients and check all medication, including stock, to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures.
  • Enter resident details on computerized record systems and ensure up-to-date and complete drug histories.
  • Provide advice on medication compliance and concordance, as well as medication advice and advice on minor ailments.
  • Plan medicines management checks for in-possession medication and assist in the purchase of medicines, equipment, and resources.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Active membership of a professional organization.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Knowledge of IT systems and experience of working in a secure setting.
  • Motivated and able to work independently.
