Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Lead Pharmacist Specialist to join their team in Bedford and Luton.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

As a Clinical Lead Pharmacist Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering specialist pharmaceutical care in Cardiology, including non-medical prescribing to a defined caseload of patients. You will work with the Clinical Service Line and Pharmacy department to meet its risk management, financial management, and clinical governance responsibilities around the use of medicines.

You will also lead and develop clinical pharmacy audit and practice research within the field of cardiology, taking an active part in projects to support patient safety. Additionally, you will undertake clinical supervision of junior pharmacists, medicines management pharmacy technicians, and pre-registration pharmacists, and act as a professional role model to all registered clinical pharmacy staff.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor/Master of Pharmacy degree, GPhC pharmacist registration, and post graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent. They will also have relevant senior experience, independent Pharmacist Prescriber status, and quality improvement training. Experience of influencing members of the multidisciplinary team in delivering patient care, clinically supervising and training staff, and policy and service development will be essential.
