Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Oncology Pharmacist to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality clinical pharmacy services to our patients.

Main Duties of the Job

Provide advanced-level clinical pharmacy services to the Oncology and Haematology departments, working closely with medical and nursing staff to optimize patient care.

Monitor and check chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition products to ensure they are prescribed safely and efficiently.

Support the development and maintenance of oncology and haematology services, including the provision of clinical guidance and advice to patients and healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Bachelor/Master of Pharmacy or equivalent

Desirable Criteria

  • PG Clinical Pharmacy Certificate
  • PG Clinical Pharmacy Diploma
  • Registered with the GPhC as an Independent Prescriber
  • GCP Certificate

Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant hospital pharmacy experience
  • Relevant oncology/haematology clinical pharmacy experience
  • Experience of NHS commissioning arrangements

Desirable Criteria

  • DUR and audit experience
  • Experience of working in Hospital Aseptic Services
  • Experience of working with clinical trials
  • Inter/intra-departmental team work

Knowledge

Essential Criteria

  • Up-to-date knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics in oncology/haematology
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills
  • Able to work without supervision but knowing when to ask for help
  • Team player, working/supporting others to ensure smooth running
  • Methodical, attention to detail
  • Honest, trustworthy, reliable, and discrete, approachable
