High-Level Pharmacist Manager

A highly rewarding opportunity has arisen to join the Transformation Unit as a Band 7 Senior Pharmacist. This role is an excellent chance to develop your clinical knowledge and skills in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.
As a Senior Pharmacist, you will be responsible for delivering a patient-centred ward pharmacy service, forging strong links with other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of clinical services to inpatients. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with Lead Pharmacists and engage in directorate projects to further enhance your development.
Main Duties- Clinical Supervision: Undertake clinical supervision and line management of Foundation Pharmacists, medicines management pharmacy technicians, and pre-registration pharmacists.
- Medicines Management: Ensure the safe, clinical/cost-effective use of medicines and staff resources across the Division, delivering defined service Key Performance Indicators.
- Rotations: Participate in 9-monthly rotations throughout Paediatrics, Maternity, Critical Care, Medicines Information, Acute Medicine, Cardiology, Complex care, Surgery, and Aseptics, supporting Antimicrobials and Education and Training teams.
- Consultant Ward Rounds: Actively participate in Consultant ward rounds, taking the lead for inpatient prescribing and real-time prescribing of discharge medicines on ePMA during the rounds.
- Independent Prescribing: Practice as an Independent Pharmacist Prescriber with both specialist and generalist scope of practice (or willing to undertake Independent Pharmacist Prescribing status).
- Evidence of audit and clinical excellence.
- Experience of supervision, training, and policy development.
- Validated experience in delivering clinical pharmacy services to medical patients in a hospital setting.
- Collaborative working and strong communication skills.
- Pharmacy degree (Masters level) and GPhC registration.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Willingness to undertake Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
