Senior Administration Assistant.
About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team at VanRath. As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for supervising administrative tasks, coordinating office functions, supporting departmental projects, and ensuring exceptional service to residents and stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and process departmental correspondence, data entry, document preparation, and records management in line with council standards.
- Lead a small team of administrative staff, offering guidance, training, and mentorship as needed.
- Act as the primary contact for incoming queries, complaints, and requests from the public, council members, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with departmental projects, organizing events and initiatives, coordinating resources, and tracking progress.
- Ensure accurate handling, storing, and sharing of information in compliance with council policies and data protection laws.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- GCSEs in English and Maths (A*-C) or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of office management and general administrative practices.
- Understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and public sector service standards.
This is a temporary position, working 5 hours per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The hourly rate is £14.
