Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Diagnostics Specialist to join our team at Synnovis, a leading pathology partnership between SYNLAB UK and Ireland, and the NHS. As part of our South East London laboratory network, you will be working closely with clinical teams and other laboratories to provide high-quality molecular diagnostic services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of specialized investigations, including Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), RT-PCR, fragment analysis, and ddPCR. You will work independently and as part of a team to analyze and interpret data, ensuring accurate and timely results.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret NGS data using Haemato-Oncology targeted panels and SNP-A karyotyping.
  • Perform a variety of molecular tests, including RT-PCR, fragment analysis, and FLT3/NPM1 analysis.
  • Develop and implement new tests under the direction of senior staff.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control and adhere to UKAS ISO15189-accredited laboratory standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., molecular biology, biochemistry, or genetics).
  • Experience in molecular diagnostics, preferably in a laboratory setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIMS) and clinical databases.
