Senior Laboratory Automation Specialist

The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre with a pioneering spirit and commitment to improving the lives of patients with cancer. We are seeking an exceptional Senior Laboratory Automation Specialist to join our Clinical Genomics department.
About the RoleAs part of our ongoing development, this exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled automation specialist to oversee and optimise the performance of automated systems in our state-of-the-art Centre for Molecular Pathology. The successful candidate will be responsible for validating and implementing new automated processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in molecular diagnostic testing.
Main Responsibilities- Oversight and optimisation of automated systems, including the Automata system and Hamilton robotic liquid handlers.
- Validation and implementation of new automated processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in molecular diagnostic testing.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment to ensure seamless operations.
- Demonstrable experience in laboratory automation and trouble shooting.
- Expertise in programming robotic liquid handlers.
- Proficiency in laboratory IT systems and LIMS software.
- Familiarity with molecular diagnostics and its applications in clinical practice.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
