Cancer Diagnostics Specialist
This role involves contributing to the development and deployment of cutting-edge methods for detecting cancer earlier than traditional methods. This includes cataloguing samples, processing plasma to extract cell-free DNA, and generating next-generation sequencing libraries from cfDNA across multiple clinical cohorts.
Your Qualifications:
Applicants should have extensive relevant laboratory experience or a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in a molecular biology field. Experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR and next-generation sequencing is essential. A background in working with human tissue samples or potentially infectious materials at containment level 2 would be advantageous.
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated annual salary for this position is £35,000 - £45,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a competitive package including a generous pension scheme, 30 days' leave per annum, and a range of work-life balance and family-friendly employment policies.
About the Institute:
The Rosenfeld lab at the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, is a leading centre for cancer research. We pioneer new approaches for minimally-invasive molecular diagnostics and analysis of cancer genomes using next-generation sequencing of circulating cell-free tumour DNA (ctDNA).
