About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated molecular biologist to join our team at the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and deploying cutting-edge methods to detect cancer earlier than traditional methods.

Our lab pioneers new approaches for minimally-invasive molecular diagnostics and analysis of cancer genomes, using next-generation sequencing of circulating cell-free tumour DNA (ctDNA).

The group is a dynamic mix of molecular biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinical fellows providing a unique environment for development and learning in cancer genomics and translational research.

We work with large collections of patient samples from different clinical studies, which we analyse by both genome-wide and targeted methods for sensitive mutation detection.

We aim to develop novel tools for cancer diagnostics by developing improved methods and demonstrating clinical utility.

This role offers a competitive salary of £35,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days' leave per annum, a season ticket loan scheme, and comprehensive personal and professional development opportunities.

Additionally, we offer flexible working arrangements, campus facilities, and a range of work-life balance and family-friendly employment policies.
