Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Diagnostics Specialist to join our team at King's College Hospital in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the development and delivery of our molecular diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities
  • To undertake a range of specialized analytical tests, including Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), RT-PCR, and fragment analysis, to deliver high-quality results for patients with haematological malignancies.
  • To analyze and interpret data using software tools, ensuring accurate reporting and communication of results to clinicians.
  • To assist in the development and implementation of new tests under the direction of senior staff, maintaining compliance with ISO 15189 standards and Health & Safety Legislation.
  • To perform Quality Control procedures, applying necessary judgment to initial analysis of results and referring any inconsistencies to the appropriate State Registered Scientist.
Requirements
  • BSc Hons Biomedical Sciences or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of performing a broad range of molecular tests and data analysis, including qPCR and fragment analysis.
  • Evidence of technical problem-solving, such as equipment failure and quality control failure.
  • Familiarity with haematological malignancy report writing and experience of NGS or microarray data analysis.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficient use of laboratory information systems and clinical databases.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary of £49,500 - £62,000 per annum, depending on experience.
