Are you passionate about ensuring a safe working environment in the nuclear industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Nuclear Protection Specialist to join our team at Rolls-Royce Submarines Limited in Derby.

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum

About the Role

This role will involve supporting the Radiation Protection Function and providing advice to various parts of the business on radiation safety and regulatory compliance. As a Nuclear Protection Specialist, you will work closely with the Head of Radiation Protection and other teams to develop and implement policies and procedures related to health physics, dosimetry, and radioactive waste management.

You will be responsible for providing guidance and assurance to areas within RRSL that hazards and risks associated with ionising radiation are being appropriately controlled. This includes supporting business requirements, acting as an on-call Health Physics Advisor for emergency arrangements, and providing RPA service to the MOD at the Naval Test Reactor Establishment Vulcan.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the design or operation of nuclear facilities, nuclear emergency response, and regulation in the UK. They should also be familiar with nuclear site licence and environmental permit conditions, as well as other regulatory requirements.
