Nuclear System Specialist - Submarines
Overview
We are looking for a skilled Nuclear System Specialist to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in the design, development, and implementation of nuclear systems for submarines.
Salary
The salary for this position is estimated to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Analyzing factual information from multiple sources, interpreting results, and identifying effective solutions by applying your own technical knowledge, expertise, and engineering judgment.
- Leading defined technical packages of work, providing leadership and delivery against customer programme milestones with agreed costs, timescales, and quality requirements.
- Encouraging and supporting the identification and implementation of continuous improvement both within and outside your immediate sphere, prompting action across the wider team, including the application of digital solutions.
- Ensuring that all work is of a high standard, maintaining acceptable risk, and using correct processes and procedures.
- Undertaking requirements management and derivation, including the implementation of Systems Engineering approaches.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD, Masters, or Bachelors degree in an Engineering or relevant Science or Mathematics degree subject with suitable experience.
- To be proactive, persistent, and customer-focused, with a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
- To possess effective interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills for liaising with peers and supervision.
- Experience working in the Nuclear industry is desirable but not essential.
