Derby, Derby, United Kingdom Rolls-Royce plc Full time

As a Derby Nuclear Engineer Position, you will be responsible for designing, analysing, and optimising nuclear propulsion systems for the Royal Navy's submarine fleet. With your expertise in reactor performance analysis, you will help us develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe, and competitive solutions to the world's vital power needs.

In this role, you will work closely with our team of experts to design, manufacture, supply, and support nuclear propulsion-related products and systems. You will analyse reactor performance for existing and new designs under normal, abnormal, and accident scenarios, developing a broad understanding of reactor plant operation and protection systems.

Experience of simulating reactor coolant systems using industry-standard codes, such as RELAP5-3D, COBRA, TRACE, and NLOOP, is desirable but not mandatory. You will need excellent communication skills and a high level of drive to succeed in this role, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

UK Security Check (SC) clearance is required for this position, and you must hold a UK nationality. We offer an estimated salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus exceptional benefits, including bonus, employee support assistance, and employee discounts.

Occasional business travel to our waterfront locations in Plymouth, Faslane, and Barrow-In-Furness may be required. We value diversity and inclusion in the workplace and look forward to hearing from talented individuals who share our passion for innovation and excellence.
