Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our Perinatal Mental Health Service as a Community Staff Nurse (Band 5). As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will participate in the assessment of patients referred to our service, identifying potential risks and implementing evidence-based treatment and interventions in partnership with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a community caseload, including admitting, assessing, care planning, and discharging patients as appropriate, in collaboration with other team members.
  • Supervise the practice of and/or demonstrate procedures to Student Nurses and other disciplines, such as Nursery Nurses.
  • Participate in our Perinatal Advice Line, which provides a consultancy service to other healthcare professionals on perinatal mental health issues.

About the Service:

The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides a comprehensive and individualized package of care for patients and infants within their family and community environment. Our service aims to provide psychiatric liaison to the health board's maternity units and promote training and development opportunities for our team to ensure they are efficiently skilled and supported to work in this challenging clinical specialty.
