We deliver a wide range of healthcare services, including acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care, to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million through our regional and national services.
As a band 5 staff nurse, you will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care in our Older People mental health wards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assessing patient care needs and developing and evaluating programs of care.
- Providing all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers, and other professionals, in line with agreed standards and clinical policies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Regularly taking charge of the ward and supervising and teaching junior staff, both qualified and unqualified.
- Mentoring nurses undergoing basic or post-basic training.
The post-holder will be expected to practice within a legal and ethical framework, as defined by:
- The Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct.
- National mental health-related legislation.
- National and local policy, guidelines, and protocols.
This is a full-time permanent contract, with a shift pattern of 12-hour shifts, rotational day/night, Monday to Sunday.
