The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in one of our Older People mental health wards, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development and evaluation of care programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing patient care needs and developing and evaluating programs of care
  • Providing relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers, and other professionals, in line with agreed standards and clinical policies
  • Regularly taking charge of the ward and supervising and teaching junior staff, both qualified and unqualified
  • Mentoring nurses undergoing basic or post-basic training

The post-holder will be expected to practice within a legal and ethical framework, as defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct, national mental health-related legislation, and national and local policy, guidelines, and protocols.

This is a full-time permanent contract, with a shift pattern of 12-hour shifts, rotational day/night, Monday to Sunday.
