Job Overview:

Hiscox is seeking a skilled Power BI developer to join our team. As a Power BI developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data visualizations, reports, and dashboards to help manage performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards to meet specific business needs.
  • Write complex DAX formulas to create calculated columns, measures, and custom tables in Power BI.
  • Build scalable data models to ensure data quality and security.
  • Develop Power BI visuals that meet specific reporting needs and improve user experience.
  • Ensure all performance data is accurate and reliable.
  • Follow data governance rules to maintain high data quality and security.
  • Use Power Automate to set up advanced workflows that automate repetitive tasks and combine different data sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored BI solutions.
  • Act with integrity and ethics in all aspects of the job.
  • Provide guidance and support to the MI and resource planning team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Power BI development and performance management.
  • Advanced SQL query writing skills.
  • Good understanding of data governance principles.
  • Able to use Power Automate and other tools to automate tasks.
  • Can write complex DAX formulas for advanced data handling.
  • Skilled in creating Power BI data models, visualizations, and custom visuals.
  • Can understand complex data and turn it into useful information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong moral values and a commitment to working well in a team.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in MI and resource planning.
  • Knowledge of operational MI challenges and solutions.
  • Experience in curating standard operating procedures and change management within operational MI teams.
  • Familiarity with Power BI security models and governance.
  • Insight into Power Automate's integration potential and automation best practices.
