Digital Commerce Lead - Food (3 Day Job Share)

Reporting to the Digital Trading Manager, the Digital Commerce Lead - Food is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the performance and growth of specific grocery categories across digital platforms, ensuring that category strategies are executed flawlessly within our customer journeys.

This role's dynamic and fast-paced nature demands confidence, resilience, and sound commercial judgment to effectively prioritize and respond to rapidly changing scenarios and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy for your assigned categories, integrating this into the overall workload plan within established timelines.

· Drive enhancements in digital sales growth and participation in alignment with business objectives for your trading division.

· Utilize all available tools and insights, including test and learn methodologies, to improve digital metrics and commercial outcomes.

· Serve as the primary contact for commercial matters and collaborate strategically with Category Planners, Buying Managers, buyers, Nectar 360, and key suppliers to identify and prioritize projects and activities for activation across Digital.

· Manage and deliver relevant Food Commercial and E-commerce projects across applicable Digital platforms.

· Collaborate with stakeholders, including category teams, suppliers, Customer and Trade Planning, Digital Operations Centre, Content, and Merchandising colleagues, to ensure Content Plan activities are effectively communicated and executed for continuous improvement in our offerings and sales optimization.

· Participate in key Category SLTs, cascades, relevant away days, and CRMs, sharing performance updates and contributing to the commercial strategy.

· Engage with key category suppliers and Nectar 360 media teams to assess performance, investment, strategy, and support for relevant Digital projects.

· Play a pivotal role in informing promotional and category planning activities by utilizing data, analytics, and insights from relevant tools and reporting.

· Identify and act upon trading improvement opportunities and risks in a timely manner.

· Build strong relationships with shared insight suppliers to develop brand-agnostic Joint Business Plans (JBPs) that drive our KPIs, ensuring existing income is sustained and additional opportunities for incremental investment are recognized.

· Ensure compliance with all legal frameworks.

Required Qualifications:

· A passion for e-Commerce and Retail.

· Proven experience in developing and executing plans aligned with strategic objectives.

· Experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with the ability to manage projects within deadlines and budgets.

· Strong analytical and numerical skills, capable of making data-driven recommendations.

· Experience working with online retailers and utilizing online analytics.

· Background in buying or trading roles.

· Excellent negotiation skills, able to balance varying needs amidst conflicting demands.

· Exceptional planning and prioritization abilities to meet deadlines.

· High customer focus with a collaborative approach.

· Ability to anticipate future risks and opportunities, taking proactive actions in the absence of a defined structure.

· Understanding of overall strategic objectives.

· Commitment to personal development and the ability to adapt communication styles to engage effectively with teams and stakeholders.
