Reporting directly to the Head of Digital Trading, the Digital Trading Manager is responsible for spearheading the performance and expansion of assigned categories across online platforms. This role demands a proactive approach, resilience, and astute commercial acumen to effectively navigate the rapidly evolving digital landscape and capitalize on emerging opportunities. The successful candidate will leverage their persuasive abilities to ensure seamless collaboration between the digital trading team and various departments including Marketing, Digital, and Commercial Operations, utilizing all available resources and insights to shape and enhance the strategic direction of their division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement a robust digital strategy for your designated categories, aiming to enhance digital KPIs in alignment with business objectives. Utilize all relevant trading mechanisms to boost visibility, conversion rates, sales, and profitability to meet your financial targets.
- Ensure your team effectively employs all available tools and insights to elevate digital performance and commercial results.
- Foster a culture driven by insights to maintain a continuous improvement framework within the team, showcasing strong examples of 'test and learn' initiatives. Collaborate with essential stakeholders in technology, engineering, merchandising, or design to advance our capabilities within established timelines.
- Collaborate with fellow Trading Managers on significant projects to enhance our offerings and improve digital performance metrics, prioritizing team resources for swift execution.
- Contribute significantly to the development of future journey and optimization strategies in partnership with Product Content and Content & Optimizations teams, ensuring your refined category expertise is fully integrated.
- Produce a comprehensive Category Plan that is regularly updated to ensure Digital's alignment with broader business ambitions for your areas of responsibility.
- Engage closely with the Commercial Trading leadership teams to clarify the scope of digital trading, establish effective workflows, and maintain clear communication channels. Ensure your team plays a pivotal role in promotional and category planning activities, utilizing data, analytics, and insights from relevant tools and reports.
- Participate in key Commercial SLTs, cascades, relevant away days, and Commercial Reviews, providing performance updates and contributing to the shaping of commercial strategy.
- Identify and address trading improvement opportunities and risks promptly.
- Work collaboratively with Customer and Event Planning, Content and Merchandising, Nectar360, Product, CX, and Digital Operations Centre to ensure timely delivery of the content plan and initiatives.
- Establish strong relationships with key insight suppliers, ensuring your team's Joint Business Plans are ambitious yet attainable, while also identifying opportunities for incremental investment.
- Maintain high levels of competitor awareness within your categories and regularly communicate enhancements to customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with all legal frameworks within your team.
- If applicable, lead, coach, and develop your team, ensuring they comprehend the overarching digital strategy and their role in achieving it. Set clear targets and maintain consistent reporting against these objectives. Identify training needs to foster team growth and create an inclusive, collaborative, and proactive work environment.
