Are you an experienced pediatric emergency nurse looking for a new opportunity?

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include coordinating and leading shifts regularly. You will also provide professional and motivational leadership to ensure that patients and their families receive exceptional clinical care and a positive patient experience.

Please be aware that this position requires working during days, nights, and weekends. You will receive advance notice of your shifts to help you manage your work and personal life effectively.

Qualifications and Professional Registration

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN1/RN2/RN12) or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register, with the appropriate level for the specialty area.
  • Post-registration qualification in the relevant specialty.
  • Mentorship or Teaching Qualification.
  • Demonstrated professional and clinical knowledge in the area, supplemented by specialized clinical, managerial training, and continuing professional development.

  • Willingness and ability to work flexible shift patterns, including internal rotation to day and night shifts and unsocial hours, based on service needs.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Essential Requirements

  • Current knowledge of clinical and professional issues, including evidence-based practice.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring learners.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information, including interactions with distressed relatives and care for terminally ill patients.
  • Awareness of clinical governance and risk management and its implications for the role and department.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively with others, along with strong organizational skills to manage time for oneself and junior staff.

Previous Experience

  • Prior post-registration experience within the relevant specialty.
  • Experience in coordinating shifts.
  • Supervisory experience with junior staff.
  • Competence in managing patients within the specialty.
