Position Overview
An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a proactive individual with outstanding clinical expertise and experience in emergency care to advance their career as a Lead Nurse in the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will assume leadership in the bustling Emergency Department on a rotational basis and will also be expected to participate in triage and streaming shifts to optimize the skill set available at patient intake.
As a Lead Nurse, you will oversee the daily operations of the department, ensuring that high standards of care are maintained for pediatric patients and their families while in the emergency setting. This includes the delegation and management of the nursing team in the absence of senior nursing staff.

Job Duties
As a registered children's nurse, the incumbent will provide leadership in delivering care to children, young people, and their families within the emergency department.
The individual will be accountable for ensuring a high standard of care that is focused on the needs of children and their families.
Responsibilities include delivering care autonomously as part of the Emergency Department team and supervising junior staff in their care delivery.
Effective communication with the multidisciplinary team is essential to contribute to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring patient safety and timely care.
Qualifications & Training
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse with Child branch/RSCN qualification.
Desirable Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in relevant field.
Experience & Education
Essential Experience
- Significant post-registration experience in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience in an Emergency Department setting.
- Qualification in safeguarding.
- Pediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) certification.
Desirable Experience
- Emergency Pediatric Life Support (EPLS) certification.
- Mentorship experience.
- Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.
