Job Purpose

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be working with young people with challenging behaviour in a children's residential home. You will need to be flexible, resilient, honest, and well-organized, as well as committed to providing a high standard of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with young people with challenging behaviour in a children's residential home
  • Be flexible, resilient, honest, and well-organized
  • Provide a high standard of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes
  • Complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements
  • Engage, motivate, and encourage young people
Requirements
  • Full manual driving license
  • Be capable of working on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy, maintain clear, neat records
  • Have good inter-personal skills, and be a positive team player
  • The ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements
  • Empathetic nature
  • Have good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience of working with young people
  • Willing to work towards the fully funded qualification in level 3 Children and Young People (or already qualified)
