About the Role:
The selected candidate will be responsible for applying effective practices in the supervision, security, and rehabilitation of youth in a correctional environment, fostering a secure atmosphere that promotes personal development and transformation. The role includes overseeing the implementation of the Facility-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (FW-PBIS) program, which encompasses resident rewards and access to various activities. Additionally, the incumbent will manage the facility's incentive area and coordinate diverse activities that align with the FW-PBIS framework.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing and securing the Incentive Unit for eligible residents' use, adhering to the operations checklist for the incentive area, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supervising residents, clarifying behavioral expectations, and collecting relevant data to ensure safety and security through direct oversight during incentive activities and programs.
- Documenting resident behavior in accordance with established protocols, maintaining accurate daily records and reports, and addressing any incidents of security breaches or emergencies.
- Utilizing de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral crises effectively.

Work Schedule:
This position requires a rotating schedule, including evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess experience in supervising and engaging with at-risk or adjudicated youth. A strong understanding of security principles, treatment methodologies, and management practices in a secure residential context is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently, effectively plan and organize activities, and communicate proficiently both orally and in writing. Skills in conflict resolution and the application of verbal and physical intervention techniques are also required.

Additional Considerations:
Prior experience in facilitating group sessions with adolescents in direct care environments is preferred. Familiarity with evidence-based strategies for engaging youth and promoting positive behavior is highly desirable. A background in youth development, criminal justice, or social sciences, including relevant educational qualifications, is advantageous.
