Chesterfield, Derbyshire, United Kingdom Protocol Education Full time

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young individuals? Do you possess the confidence and adaptability to tackle new challenges? This position may be the perfect fit for you.

About the Institution:

Located in Chesterfield, this specialized residential institution serves children aged 11-16 who face significant social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH). The majority of the students have experienced behavioral issues and related disorders that have hindered their success in traditional educational settings, often resulting in exclusions. Every staff member is dedicated to enhancing the students' outcomes and facilitating their reintegration into mainstream education.

About the Position:

As a Youth Support Specialist, you will assist students with SEMH needs who may struggle to engage in their educational journey. Your role will involve establishing rapport with students and fostering positive relationships that encourage them to manage their behavior effectively. You will collaborate within a small team of 5, responsible for the safety and well-being of 15-25 students, depending on the time of year. Initially, this role will be on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent contract following a transition period.

What We Expect from You:

If you have prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or support worker, or if you are driven to improve the lives of young people, this role is ideal for you. You should be outgoing and confident in your ability to address behavioral challenges and re-engage students in their education.

While not mandatory, it is preferred that candidates hold a qualification in Team Teach and have experience working with young individuals who have SEMH needs. Additionally, it is essential that applicants possess a valid driver's license, as you may be required to conduct home visits for safety and well-being checks.

What Protocol Education Offers:

  • A dedicated consultant who understands the significance of finding the right role for you, ensuring you achieve the best outcomes in your career.
  • Access to over 50 CPD courses at Diploma and Certificate levels, designed to enhance your knowledge and support your career progression.
  • Flexibility in work arrangements, whether you seek full-time or part-time opportunities. Protocol can accommodate your preferences, offering daily, long-term, or permanent positions.
  • Competitive compensation rates.
  • A referral program that rewards you with £50 for each individual you refer who begins working with Protocol.
  • The chance to collaborate with an agency recognized within the industry for its awards and accreditations.

All applicants must possess the necessary qualifications and training for this role. For further details, please refer to the FAQs on the Protocol Education website.

All pay rates quoted will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advertisement is for a temporary position, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
