About the Role:
In this position, the selected candidate will apply best practices in the supervision, security, and rehabilitation of juveniles within a correctional environment, fostering a safe atmosphere that promotes personal growth and transformation. The incumbent will oversee the implementation of the Facility-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (FW-PBIS) program, which includes managing resident incentives and facilitating access to various activities. Responsibilities also include managing the operations of the facility's incentive room and coordinating a range of facility-wide events to support the FW-PBIS framework.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing and securing the Incentive Unit for eligible residents' use, adhering to the operations checklist for the incentive area, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supervising residents, reviewing behavioral expectations, and collecting data to ensure security and safety through direct supervision during incentive activities and programs.
- Documenting resident behavior in accordance with established procedures, maintaining daily records and reports, and ensuring no lapses in documenting incidents related to security breaches or critical situations.
- Intervening in behavioral crises utilizing de-escalation strategies and techniques to maintain safety.

Work Schedule:
This position requires a rotating schedule, including after-hours and weekend duties.

Additional Information:
Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Selected candidates will undergo a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening. Completion of mandated training and certifications by the Department of Juvenile Justice is required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in supervising and engaging with at-risk or adjudicated youth is essential. Candidates should possess considerable knowledge of security principles, treatment methodologies, and management practices in a secure residential setting. Familiarity with intellectual disabilities and mental health disorders is also necessary. The ability to work independently, effectively plan, organize, and supervise residents, along with strong oral and written communication skills, is crucial. Skills in conflict resolution and the application of verbal and physical intervention techniques are required. Knowledge of security protocols and group facilitation practices is important, as is the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in delivering comprehensive programming. Attention to detail, patience, and emotional stability are vital when providing support to both staff and youth.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in facilitating group sessions with adolescents in direct care environments is preferred. Familiarity with evidence-based strategies to engage residents and motivate positive outcomes is advantageous. A background in youth development, criminal justice, or social sciences, including relevant degrees, is desirable. Experience with PBIS, Motivational Interviewing, EPICS, Anger Replacement Training, basic behavior management, mental health first aid, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness training is also preferred.
