Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stroke Data Coordinator to join our team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Accurately collect and submit data onto national databases with local breakdown to internal and external organizations.
  • Report to key members of the Stroke Team, gathering data, preparing and presenting data in the most appropriate format, and providing analytical support for all project benefits, KPIs, and metrics to enhance patient care and experience.
  • Develop effective working relationships with clinical staff of all grades and disciplines, informatics staff, clinical coders, and others to minimize delays in reporting and ensure efficient data collection and reporting methods.
  • Identify areas of improvement regarding efficiency or improved patient outcomes and disseminate these with staff in a timely manner.
  • Actively report in the Stroke Governance Meetings and lead on the stroke dashboard, with implications for patient care outcomes.

Requirements
  • A levels or equivalent level of competence
  • Evidence of a good standard of literacy/English language skills
  • Good communication skills on the telephone, via email, face-to-face, and in written correspondence
  • Professional and responsible approach at all times
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Numerate qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of further study in IT/Information systems/Analytics related areas
  • Understanding of NHS budget streams and coding criteria
  • Experience of working in project environments
  • Experience of dealing with clinical and non-clinical staff of all levels
Additional Criteria
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including engaging presentation skills both verbally and written
  • Ability to work on own or as a member of a team
  • Ability to reconcile data accurately and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Experience of managing a busy workload with conflicting priorities
  • Proactive work ethic
