About the Role:


As a Claims Technical Specialist, you will be tasked with managing intricate and specialized claims across a variety of insurance sectors, with a primary focus on Construction/Engineering and Cyber domains.

Your role will involve delivering exceptional customer service to HSB's clientele and collaborating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure that claims are processed proactively, skillfully, and in accordance with HSB's established service standards.

Core Responsibilities:
Oversee claims from First Notice of Loss (FNOL) to resolution, aiming to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
Evaluate complex and specialized claims within the HSB product range.
Engage in litigation, mediation, and other legal proceedings as necessary.
Assist the Claims Leadership Team in fostering a high-performance culture within the claims department.

Conduct investigations, determine liability, negotiate settlements, and identify potential recovery avenues and fraud risks within departmental guidelines and authority limits.

Support fellow claims handlers with referrals.

Manage relationships and expectations with internal teams, client companies, brokers, intermediaries, direct insureds, and third parties, including face-to-face interactions to ensure excellence throughout the claims process.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and governance throughout the claims lifecycle.
Utilize third-party services such as Loss Adjusters and Solicitors as appropriate.

Provide technical knowledge to bolster our reputation as industry leaders, particularly within the Construction/Engineering sector.


Essential Skills & Experience:
Comprehensive understanding of the UK insurance landscape
Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and manage high workloads
Prior experience in the Engineering & Construction sectors
