Company Overview

Hanwha Group encompasses a wide array of sectors, including Solar and renewable energy, Defense, and Aerospace. Following the acquisition of Hanwha Ocean shipyard, we are positioned to harness its capabilities and integrate them with our other key ventures, including our newly established ship owning division, Hanwha Shipping. This division is set to manage various vessel types designed and built at Hanwha Ocean, aimed at mitigating first mover risks associated with new ship types and technologies, thereby accelerating their introduction to our clientele.

Position Overview

We are in search of a proactive and seasoned Business Development Manager to significantly contribute to our objectives, particularly within the Europe/Africa region. The ideal candidate will have substantial expertise in client relationship management, market analysis, business development strategies, effective communication, and team leadership. This role may require occasional domestic and international travel, necessitating adaptability to diverse cultural settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the head of Hanwha Ocean Europe in strategic initiatives and high-level stakeholder engagement.
  • Enhance customer relationship management and business development skills within the Hanwha Ocean Europe team to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Engage with senior ship owners, charterers, operators, and maritime authorities to explore new business avenues in both traditional shipbuilding and emerging sectors.
  • Foster commercial partnerships and business generation for Hanwha Ocean in collaboration with other Hanwha affiliates, such as Hanwha Shipping, Hanwha Power Systems, and Hanwha Engine, ensuring a unified market presence.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to identify new shipping developments, create commercially viable technology roadmaps, and partner with industry stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
  • Promote the company's interests and enhance our global footprint.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a comparable role within the shipping, energy, oil & gas, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Proven track record in cultivating and strengthening senior-level relationships.
  • Ability to make informed decisions by assessing business situations, including client needs, global trends, and company objectives.
  • Strong understanding of international business practices and cultural sensitivities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Work Authorization:

The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK prior to joining Hanwha. This position does not offer sponsorship for work authorization in the UK.
