Occupational Therapy Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients to achieve their occupational therapy goals and return home.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Provide treatment to patients following a pre-prescribed treatment plan, utilizing basic occupational therapy techniques.
- Monitor patients' physical and cognitive function, reporting changes to the Occupational Therapist.
- Assist with the removal and application of functional/supportive aids, prostheses, and splints.
- Teach patients and carers safe usage of equipment and develop clinical judgment skills regarding routine supply of equipment.
Requirements
- Experience working within health and social care settings.
- Basic knowledge of the role of occupational therapy.
- Experience providing support to other persons in need.
