Occupational Therapist Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Trauma and Orthopaedic team as a Team Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and aspiring leader to take on a challenging clinical environment and contribute to the further development of occupational therapy services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of patients with complex health and social care needs, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Provide specialist assessment, consultancy, and intervention of patients' occupational needs within the inpatient setting as clinically indicated.
- Carry a caseload of patients with complex health and social care needs, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff, and contribute to the development of their clinical, teaching, and managerial skills.
- Develop and maintain a high standard of autonomous working and supervision of others in complex assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Identify areas for service development and projects for the team to complete, and proactively participate and motivate others to lead CPD sessions through journal clubs, in-service skills training, and peer support.
- Attend relevant meetings as a representative of the team and advise on service developments in line with government policy development.

Person Specification- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
- Current Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Practice placement qualification.
- Experience working with patients in an orthopaedic setting at a senior level.
- Experience working in an acute health setting and complex discharge planning.
- Experience supervising and appraising qualified staff or students.
- Leadership and first-line management experience.
- Experience of involvement in audit/service development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to a range of audiences in English language.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning skills and management of complex cases.
- Ability to work autonomously and set priorities.
- Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance.
- Excellent presentation and training skills.
- Ability to analyse professional and ethical issues.
- Excellent skills in supervising and appraising staff.
- Ability to organise and respond efficiently to complex information.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Committed to personal and team development.
- Able to work weekends in line with the Therapy 7-day working provision.
